Where we started
Designs for landscapes come from memories, sketches, imagination and photos. Many of them represent favorite places in England, previously our home. In addition to new unfinished boxes, we have made use of reclaimed wooden boxes for the landscape designs, including music, card and cigar boxes. In some cases we have not over painted parts of the original box, so the box may include images/brands associated with its original use.
I tried a new format last year, creating tiny print copies of our paintings for the lid of a box, and then decorating the rest to match the image. They were well received and I will continue to develop them for future events.
Landscapes and art boxes do take longer than other designs and therefore we price them as original works of art. This means they are generally more expensive than our other boxes.
