Costume Jewelry repurposed

Many of the pieces I buy are older costume jewelry, primarily brooches, pins and earrings. In painting the boxes, I consider the color and shape of the jewel and use this as a guide to the design. It is my hope that the designs complement and showcase the jewel. Not all of the jewelry pieces are perfect, but they are chosen for their color, shape and beauty. Costume jewelry pieces cost me between $1 and $10 although I try and maintain an average price for the boxes.
